Head of Network Engineering

As Head of Network Engineering, you will lead our Network Engineering team both technically and personally. You will further develop our network architecture, set technical standards, and ensure that our platforms meet the current and future requirements of our customers and our business. In doing so, you combine technical know-how with leadership strength, pragmatism, and a clear eye for sustainable solutions.

Your tasks

• You lead our 10-member Network Engineering team
• You ensure the stable operation of our network infrastructure and specifically develop the existing platforms further
• Together with internal stakeholders, you translate business requirements into viable, operationally secure technical solutions
• As a know-how carrier, you shape the network strategy and architecture with a focus on stability, scalability, security, cost-efficiency, and automation
• You further develop technical standards, processes, and best practices and drive topics such as Network Observability, Security, and network automation
• In projects, you set priorities, create clarity, and ensure that solutions can be implemented professionally and operated sustainably

Your skills

• Several years of leadership experience in a technical environment, ideally in telecommunications, network operations, or IT infrastructure
• Completed studies in the field of IT/telecommunications or a comparable education
• Very good knowledge of network architectures, routing, Software Defined Networking, IP/MPLS, security, monitoring, and automation
• Experience with connection technologies FTTH and Docsis as well as infrastructures from Cisco and Huawei
• Clear, committed leadership at eye level as well as the ability to bring different perspectives together
• Solution-oriented, strong-implementation, and reliable way of working
• Strategic vision, operational implementation strength, and pragmatism regarding complex technical issues
• Clear communication and the ability to convey technical topics clearly and concisely
• Decisiveness as well as a good sense for the balance between stability, innovation, cost-efficiency, and business benefit
