As part of our politics editorial team, you will write about all news from politics and contribute significantly to ensuring we remain the undisputed number 1 for breaking news.

Journalist: Politics Desk (a)*

Your tasks

• You research and report on the most important decisions in Swiss politics
• You develop ideas for your own stories from local, cantonal, and national politics – always close to our readers
• You manage live tickers during elections, votes, and Federal Council press conferences
• You implement creative ideas – e.g., storytelling formats such as Q&A, listicles, background articles, or data visualizations
• You work in shift operation (6–23:00, focus on morning shift 7–15:30) and regularly undertake weekend shifts
• You work closely with colleagues from the specialist departments, the social media teams, and SEO experts

Your profile

• You bring journalistic experience and know the Swiss political landscape precisely
• You are eloquent, possess proficient German language skills, and know what appeals to readers
• You have a good general education and know what moves the country and its people
• You are at home in digital journalism and have a high affinity for social media
• You maintain an overview even in hectic moments, can handle time pressure and responsibility well, and have an independent and flexible way of working

• After reviewing your documents, a telephone conversation follows for initial clarifications and appointment scheduling
• This is followed by a video call with Sven Altermatt and Lucien Fluri (Co-Head of Politics), and Manuela Wyss, our HR Recruiting Partner (duration approx. 45 to 60 minutes)
