The contribution you can make

• Create, publish and update geological products in various formats (GIS, 3D models, maps, reports, etc.)
• Interpret geological information for the purpose of creating models
• Coordinate and monitor projects and assignments with external service providers (deadlines, performance, budget etc.)
• Draft and rework scientific publications
• Collaborate as an expert on geological projects and promote collaboration with internal and external partners (federal offices, cantons, universities etc.)

What distinguishes you

• University degree (master or doctorate) in geology (or equivalent degree)
• At least 6 years of professional experience in the relevant areas of expertise
• Excellent knowledge of the geology of Switzerland and good proficiency in GIS systems (e.g. ArcGIS)
• Team-oriented personality, with strong analytical skills and high competence in solving complex problems
• Active knowledge of a second official language and English

swisstopo is the Confederation's competence center in the field of geoinformation. swisstopo is responsible for national measurement, coordinates the Confederation's activities in the field of geodata and geoservices and provides its partners and clients with up-to-date and high-quality georeferenced data for the entire Swiss territory. It offers its products, for example, in the form of national maps in digital or paper format, of three-dimensional models or of web services. The Office also serves as the specialized authority of the Confederation for geology and is the body responsible for high supervision of official measurement.
