For our Rechtsdienst in the Amt für Justizvollzug of the Canton of Bern, we are looking for a dedicated legal professional. We are committed to a modern, law-compliant penal execution that places resocialization and recidivism prevention at the center.

Your tasks

• You support and advise the line managers and the organizational units (especially Justizvollzugsanstalten and prisons) in all legal matters.
• You use and expand your specialist knowledge in various legal subject areas, particularly in enforcement and execution law, data protection law, procurement and contract law, as well as in Bernese administrative law.
• You update internal office decrees and participate in cantonal legislation projects.
• You draft internal instructions, legal briefs, consultations, and decrees.
• You work in a dedicated team and maintain regular exchange with the operational units in the Justizvollzug.

Your profile

• Completed legal studies (Master).
• Editorial skill and style appropriate to the target audience.
• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary issues and contact with numerous contact persons.
• Networked, solution-oriented way of thinking and working.
• Readiness to provide service and a dedicated appearance.
• High service orientation, sense of responsibility, and loyalty.
• Empathic and confident appearance.

About the Amt für Justizvollzug

The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible, with around 1000 employees within the Sicherheitsdirektion des Kantons Bern (SID), for the open and closed execution of sentences and measures for adults and youths. To fulfill this task, the office has four concordat Justizvollzugsanstalten, four Regionalgefängnisse, the Bewachungsstation am Inselspital, the Haftleitstelle, as well as the Bewährungs- und Vollzugsdienste at its disposal.
