Social Worker in Child and Adult Protection (60%-100%)

The city of Langenthal forms the center of the Bernese Oberaargau with a catchment area of around 80-000 people and, with approx. 16-400 inhabitants, is the eighth largest municipality in the Canton of Bern. The Sozialamt of the city of Langenthal is a medium-sized social service with 24 committed social workers, divided into 5 teams, which are led by group leaders, specialist unit leaders, department leaders, and a head of office. We have a well-organized administration and are a young and dynamic team.
To complement our team in the specialist department for Child and Adult Protection, we are looking for a committed and motivated personality as a Social Worker in Child and Adult Protection (60%-100%) as of 1. September 2026 or by arrangement. This is your job

• Carrying out mandates in child and adult protection
• Fact-finding investigations in child and adult protection
• Voluntary consultations in the area of consensual child protection
• Possible participation in internal projects and working groups

This is what you bring with you

• Diploma from a university of applied sciences or university for social work
• Professional experience in child and adult protection is very desirable or a high willingness to familiarize yourself with this professional field
• Independent, reliable, resilient, and team-oriented personality
• Proficiency in oral and written expression
• Confidence in administrative matters, good IT user knowledge
