Spatial Planner 80 – 100% (partially fixed-term until 31.03.2028)

In this exciting position, you will accompany the development of the Bernese municipalities and regions in the settlement and landscape space. You will work closely with municipal and regional planning authorities, rely on structure plans and laws, and establish trusting partnerships. A dedicated interdisciplinary team from the fields of spatial planning and legal sciences awaits you in Nidau and Bern.

Your tasks

• Preliminarily review land-use and special land-use plans (plans and regulations) as well as structural planning
• Participate in the approval of planning including appeal proceedings
• Draft official and technical reports
• Advise municipalities and regions on spatial planning concerns
• Participate in interdisciplinary projects and working groups

Your profile

• University degree in spatial or urban planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture or a comparable discipline
• Knowledge and experience in spatial planning, good spatial imagination
• Experience as a project manager with analytical and conceptual skills
• Goal- and customer-oriented way of working, great interest in interdisciplinary cooperation in a bilingual environment, assertiveness
• Language skills: French in spoken and written form business fluent (C2-C1) / German good knowledge (B2)

We deal with questions of spatial planning and spatial development at the municipal, regional and cantonal level, review and approve planning of municipalities and regions and assess construction projects outside of the building zones. We supervise municipal finances, review and approve municipal decrees and advise municipalities on municipal law issues as well as on reforms and mergers.
