• Advise and support the Head of HR at EDA on strategic HR topics, develop and further develop concepts, accompany their implementation, and lead partial and overall projects.
• Help shape the financial and personnel management of Personal EDA, in particular the global budget and other financial and personnel management variables, perform governance tasks, as well as further develop the Internal Control System (IKS) and quality assurance and develop recommendations for action for the hierarchy.
• Coordinate and accompany cross-departmental business, in particular Federal Council and parliamentary business as well as audit mandates from the Internal Audit and the Swiss Federal Audit Office.
• Support the department and its management in the preparation, coordination, and implementation of management decisions and represent Personal EDA in cross-departmental working groups and committees.
• Help shape the strategic communication of Personal EDA and further develop communication vessels and platforms.

What makes you unique

• University degree (Bachelor or Master), preferably in business administration, public management, law, political science, or a comparable field.
• Professional experience in a staff, strategy, HR, or project management function, ideally in public administration.
• Very good analytical, conceptual, and editorial skills as well as a structured and independent way of working.
• High organizational competence as well as the ability to coordinate and prioritize complex and parallel business in a target-oriented manner.
• Confident handling of digital work and communication tools (in particular MS 365, business management systems, and collaboration tools); affinity for AI is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of two official languages as well as very good English skills (at least level B2).

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA) coordinates and shapes Swiss foreign policy on behalf of the Federal Council, protects the interests of the country, and promotes Swiss values.

The Directorate for Resources (DR) manages the use of personnel and finances to implement foreign policy objectives. It operates the worldwide Swiss representation network. The Directorate provides the services necessary for the operational management of the Department in the areas of logistics, telematics, management, and controlling instruments. The legislation, application of the law, and legal advice of the Department also belong to the area of responsibility of the Directorate for Resources. Subordinate to it is also the Federal Travel Centre, which organizes and purchases international business trips.
