Senior ICT Systems Engineer (Backend Service Communication Service)

Your contribution

• Design the structure, integration, and further development of backend services for tactical and civilian communication solutions on the OpenShift NPD platform, take responsibility for their secure operation, and automate deployment, configuration, and testing
• Design, integrate, and take responsibility for central security services, such as key management (COMSEC/TRANSEC), PKI, IAM, and PAM for the entire lifecycle, constantly integrating them into the NPD -- Communication Service system environment
• Develop and integrate components for security services and testing, as well as ensure monitoring, logging, alarming, and continuous optimization of operational and end-to-end processes
• Analyze and resolve malfunctions in the interaction between related platforms and systems, manage technical coordination and escalation with suppliers, as well as plan and implement changes, releases, updates, and lifecycle-related activities
• Lead external DevSecOps engineers from a technical perspective, structure tasks, examine and challenge technical solutions, and establish binding quality standards
• Collaborate in a SAFe environment at the team and ART level, work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Architects, translate technical requirements into actionable solutions and document them, and use scripting and automation with tools such as Python and Ansible

What distinguishes you

• Education as an IT specialist (AFC/professional certificate/SUP), SUP technician, or engineer (university/FH/SUP) in computer science or telecommunications, with good knowledge also in the other sector, as well as several years of experience as a Senior DevSecOps, Platform, or System Engineer in complex and security-relevant environments
• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift, Linux, container technologies, Git, CI/CD, as well as Infrastructure/Configuration as Code and automation, for example with Ansible, Helm, and Python/Shell
• Extensive know-how in security, particularly in the field of key management/encryption services, PKI, IAM/PAM, Secrets Management, Hardening, and Vulnerability Management, as well as the ability to challenge specialists on a technical level
• Solid experience in platform management, monitoring, logging, and alarming, as well as in the most common OSS ecosystems such as ELK, Zabbix, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry, in addition to strong competence in end-to-end problem solving
• Experience in managing IT services and with ServiceNow, as well as in processes related to incidents, problems, changes, configuration, and lifecycle; proficiency in dealings with suppliers and in the integration of manufacturer-specific Application Services
• Strong technical leadership and communication skills, as well as experience in agile/SAFe organizations; ability to translate architecture, security, and operational requirements into solid and automatable solutions
