Your new job ##

• Operation and further development: You are responsible for the stable, secure and performant operation of our database landscape across various platforms, from on-premises infrastructures via Azure to external hosting and provider solutions; willingness for occasional assignments in the evening and on weekends (e.g., as part of productive migrations)
• Platform management: You design, implement and further develop reliable and scalable database solutions and support migrations, modernizations and platform changes
• Performance and availability: You monitor and optimize database performance, availability and resource utilization and ensure reliable backup, recovery and high availability solutions
• Automation and security: You automate recurring operational and maintenance tasks, establish technical standards and implement requirements for security, monitoring and compliance
• Collaboration and technical consulting: You work in an agile organizational structure with interdisciplinary teams, support technical issues and drive the continuous improvement of our database services

What we benefit from ##

• Bachelor (University of Applied Sciences or university)
• Sound experience in database management: several years of experience in the administration, development and optimization of relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL Server
• Broad infrastructure and platform understanding: experience with database solutions in on-premises environments, Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL) as well as ideally experience with hosting platforms from third-party providers
• Technical know-how: performance tuning and backup, recovery and high availability concepts, ideally also good knowledge of SQL and database modeling
• Automation and standardization: experience with scripting, automation, Infrastructure as Code and modern deployment and operational processes
• Analytical and communicative skills: structured, independent way of working, strong problem-solving competence and enjoyment of collaboration
