For the Staatsanwaltschaft Bern-Mittelland in Bern, we are looking for a Legal Secretary.

Your tasks

• Supporting the management of the Staatsanwaltschaft as well as the procedural management in conducting criminal investigations
• Making inquiries, drafting motions and decrees within the scope of the preliminary proceedings, as well as preparing indictments and party submissions
• Assisting with personal prosecution representation and drafting internal notices of appeal
• Supporting the Strafbefehlsstaatsanwältinnen and the Strafbefehlsstaatsanwälte in the preparation of decisions (legal clarifications)
• Creating reports and drafting minutes

• Lawyer or Bern notary patent
• Analytical and networked thinking
• Rapid comprehension, structured and efficient way of working

• Open and communicative personality
• Excellent German skills (written and spoken) and good French skills (B1)

The Staatsanwaltschaft is responsible for enforcing the state's right to prosecution. It conducts the preliminary proceedings, prosecutes criminal offenses within the framework of investigations, files indictments if necessary and represents this indictment in court. In minor cases, it issues a Strafbefehl. Organizationally, the Staatsanwaltschaft of the Canton Bern consists of the Generalstaatsanwaltschaft, three Staatsanwaltschaften for the entire cantonal territory (one Staatsanwaltschaft for the prosecution of economic offenses, one Staatsanwaltschaft for special tasks and one Staatsanwaltschaft for juvenile criminal matters), as well as four regional Staatsanwaltschaften (Berner Jura-Seeland, Emmental-Oberaargau, Bern-Mittelland and Oberland).
