You are there from the beginning. Where data becomes the basis for decisions. In your role, you ensure clear structures, consistent definitions, and usable data – for the entire SABAG Gruppe.

Data Architect 80-100%

What you move

• You ensure that data is not just present – but understood and used
• You develop and are responsible for the data architecture across all divisions and value streams – both functionally and technically, from the target image to feasibility
• You define central data objects such as customer, product, order, and price, transfer them into robust logical and physical data models, and ensure consistent terms and key figures
• You design data flows and integration patterns between ERP, PIM, CRM, E-Commerce, and BI/AI platforms (Batch, API, Events) – captured once, used multiple times
• You shape the target architecture of the data platform (Data Warehouse / Lakehouse), help build the central data base for reporting and analyses, and provide Data Engineers with clear technical guidelines
• You establish governance principles, quality criteria, and responsibilities, anchor them technically, and bring them into the Data Council
• You maintain the data catalog, glossary, and lineage, and make the origin, use, and responsibility of data transparent
• You advise divisions and projects on data issues and accompany initiatives from the idea to the go-live
• You are a sparring partner for Data Engineers, Technical Architects, Business Solution Architects, and IT

What you bring

• You bring structure to data and clarity to discussions
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, or comparable practice
• Several years of experience in Data Engineering as well as in data architecture and data modeling, ideally also in Data Governance or master data management
• Sound knowledge of modern data platforms, integration patterns, and Data Warehouse or Lakehouse architectures – ideally in the Microsoft environment
• Very good SQL skills; experience with Python, ETL/ELT pipelines, and interfaces
• Experience with data catalogs, glossaries, and establishing data responsibilities
• Understanding of business processes and key figures and their translation into data models
• Hands-on mentality, communication strength, and assertiveness regarding data standards
• Pragmatism - focus on usable, maintainable data models instead of theoretical perfection
• Very good German in spoken and written; English and French are an advantage
