Technical Accountant (f/m/d) Specialty Lines, part-time or full-time

Do you want to apply your accounting know-how where international insurance contracts, complex payment flows, and modern financial processes converge? In this versatile specialist role, you will take responsibility for the Technical Accounting of Helvetia Specialty Lines CH & International.

You ensure reliable financial processing, create transparency for sound decisions, and, together with Underwriting, Claims and Finance, further develop our processes and systems. In this way, you make a direct contribution to the quality and sustainable success of our international insurance business.

What you achieve ##

• You ensure that insurance premiums, levies, and contract data are mapped completely, correctly, and on time in the SAP FS-RI subsidiary ledger.
• You manage accounts receivable in SAP FS-CD, allocate incoming payments, reconcile open items, and accompany the disbursement process.
• You check settlements and bordereaux for accuracy and contract compliance and clarify discrepancies directly with our internal and external partners.
• You reconcile subsidiary and general ledgers, review data flows from upstream systems, and support quarterly and annual closings as well as audits.
• You analyze open items, payment flows, contract data, and technical insurance results and provide meaningful information for reporting and management decisions.
• You are responsible for the correct reporting and remittance of relevant insurance taxes in various countries and ensure compliance with applicable sanction regulations.
• You contribute your expertise to system, process, and automation projects, accompany tests and migrations, and consistently implement identified improvement opportunities.
• Place of work: Basel or Stettbach in combination with flex-office possible.

What you bring ##

• You have completed a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a comparable qualification.
• You have several years of professional experience in Technical Accounting, insurance accounting, or a comparable finance function.
• You are familiar with IFRS 17 and/or local accounting regulations.
• Knowledge of SAP FS-RI and SAP FS-CD is a plus. More importantly is your intuition for numbers and your motivation to work deeply into our systems and processes.
• You think analytically, work carefully, and find pragmatic solutions - even when things get dynamic, you set the right priorities.
• You like to tackle challenges, represent your professional view convincingly, and at the same time work constructively and in a team-oriented manner.
• You have very good Excel skills and experience in data analysis; ideally, you have also already participated in testing, migrations, automations, or process improvements.
• You communicate confidently in spoken and written German and English and also get complex topics to the point clearly and understandably. Other languages are a plus.
