What you can contribute

• Assume responsibility, in your capacity as head, for anticipation and prospective planning in the field of military strategy, for the benefit of the armed forces
• Develop the Prospective Planning field and lead it technically, content-wise, and in terms of personnel
• Take charge of research management within the Groupement Défense and ensure its development
• Analyze national and international reports concerning developments in the fields of security policy, economy, and military doctrine

What makes you unique

• University degree (master)
• Leadership experience in the army, in administration, or in the economic environment
• Experience in database management and the use of artificial intelligence
• Excellent knowledge of security policy and general knowledge of the military field
• Good active knowledge of at least a second official language and passive knowledge of a third official language
• Very good command of English

The Army Staff (EM A) supports the Chief of the Army in its leadership activities of the departmental field of Defense and ensures global military planning as well as the development of the Swiss Army as a whole. It develops the strategic bases, the development of the armed forces, and the planning of the army and weaponry, in accordance with political directives, and assumes tasks in the context of international security. The management, steering, and coordination of all cross-functional areas (personnel, finance, real estate) also fall within its competence.

The Swiss Army employs more than 9000 employees in four military professions and approximately 200 civilian professions, across 110 sites throughout Switzerland. It also ensures succession by training apprentices in more than 30 trades.
