Your contribution

• Ensure the proper operation of the Federal Asylum Centres (BAZ) and other SEM locations, coordinate operational activities, and contribute to the development of demand-oriented solutions
• Coordinate and monitor service providers as well as ensure the quality of services rendered and compliance with applicable specifications and agreements
• Manage occupancy and accommodation capacities and contribute to efficient and flexible planning of available resources
• Act as a contact person for authorities, institutional partners, and service providers and promote dialogue, cooperation, and the development of joint solutions
• Recognize and assess vulnerable life situations, social fragility, or particularly complex situations at an early stage, capture the specific needs of the affected persons, and contribute to the coordination of suitable support and accompaniment measures

What makes you unique

• University degree or equivalent training, preferably in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Pedagogy, or a related field
• Professional experience in dealing with complex situations and in collaborating with professional and institutional networks
• Strong organizational and coordination skills as well as a high affinity for operational tasks and the prioritization of activities; also willingness to be active regularly at the various BAZ of the procedural region, particularly in Ticino and Central Switzerland
• Excellent social and communication skills as well as the ability to build trusting relationships and work successfully with different stakeholder groups
• Ability to develop pragmatic and sustainable solutions and to maintain an overview even in a dynamic environment
• Good active knowledge of a second official language as well as good English skills

The Admission and Residence Department examines applications for entry by foreign nationals (visas) and possible removal measures (expulsions, entry bans). The SEM also decides on the consent to issue or extend residence permits (with or without gainful employment), advises the cantonal authorities on migration matters, and monitors the application of federal legislation in the migration area.
