The city of Langenthal forms the center of the Bernese Oberaargau with a catchment area of around 80-000 people and is the eighth largest municipality in the Canton of Bern with approx. 16-400 inhabitants. The Social Services Department of the city of Langenthal is a medium-sized social service with 24 dedicated social workers, divided into 5 teams, which are led by group leaders, department heads, and a head of department. We have a well-organized administration and are a young and dynamic team.
As of January 1, 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for a Social Worker Social Assistance (70%-100%) This is your job

• Alignment of economic social assistance within the framework of cantonal specifications and internal instructions
• Advising and accompanying clients with a focus on social and professional integration
• Carrying out preventive consultations
• Goal-oriented case management as well as solution-oriented work even in challenging situations

What you bring with you

• Diploma from a university of applied sciences or university for social work
• Professional experience very desirable or willingness to familiarize yourself with the broad professional field of statutory social work

• Confident oral and written expression
• Good understanding of administrative processes and good IT user knowledge
