Your Tasks

Our thermal analysis devices are mechatronic systems of the highest quality and performance for determining a wide variety of thermal and mechanical properties. They are used by our customers for research, development, and quality assurance of substances and materials of all kinds. For our global headquarters in Nänikon-Greifensee, we are looking for a committed Senior Software Engineer 80 - 100% (all genders) to strengthen our software team and actively shape the future of our PC-based software solutions.

In this role, you will undertake the following activities:

• You will participate in the further development of complex, innovative PC-based application software.
• You will drive the replacement and modernization of existing subsystems, particularly in the area of the integrated database management system and the graphical user interface.
• You will take on architectural tasks for the abstraction of operating system and open-source components.
• You will develop specifications, designs, and test concepts within the framework of our development process.
• You will support product launches as well as the maintenance and further development of existing products in the market.
• You will work closely with interdisciplinary project teams from the areas of product management, electronics, mechanics, and measuring cell development.

Your Profile

We have the following requirements for this position:

• You have a completed engineering degree (FH, ETH, TU) with a focus on technical computer science or a comparable qualification.
• You bring excellent knowledge of C++ as well as several years of experience in the development of Windows? desktop applications.
• You have profound knowledge of relational database systems as well as experience with APIs for data access and database administration.
• You have experience with libraries and frameworks for the development of graphical user interfaces.
• You bring good knowledge of the architecture of web-based applications.
• You have knowledge of communication protocols for secure communication with external devices.
• You have experience in the development of operating system-independent applications.
• You are familiar with development environments such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code as well as with modern software development processes.
• You have knowledge of Application Lifecycle Management, version control with Git, as well as automated build and deployment environments, ideally Azure DevOps.
• You are familiar with the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act and understand its impact on the software development process.
• You enjoy taking responsibility and actively shaping forward-looking developments.
• You are characterized by commitment, personal responsibility, quality awareness, as well as a structured and team-oriented way of working.
• Very good German and English skills are required.
