Do you share our vision of making the world of pension provision simpler, more transparent, and more understandable for people in Switzerland? As a specialist in Data Science, Machine Learning, and Cloud-native Data Engineering, would you like to design and operate high-performance, robust systems and pipelines that enable our intelligent lead engine and GenAI applications?

As a Senior Data Scientist & ML Engineer in a motivated team, you will work on our data architecture. Your mission is a technological highlight: You will design, implement, and maintain the pension portal and private pension system architecture of our new lead engine from scratch (greenfield approach). In doing so, you will develop data pipelines and MLOps workflows on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will integrate complex data streams, optimize relational core databases for personalized portal content, and ensure maintainability and availability in productive operation through automated tests and CI/CD pipelines. Furthermore, you will drive the technical implementation of modern AI agent systems with the team and take over the long-term maintenance and monitoring of these AI services.

What awaits you

• System Architecture & MLOps (Greenfield, GCP): You design and implement the data architecture of our new lead engine from scratch. You ensure that Next-Best-Action models are provided as API services (Cloud Run/Cloud Functions) and are responsible for the long-term maintenance of these systems in live operation.
• Real-time Data Integration & Core-DB Optimization: You develop the technical foundations for personalized real-time content on our pension portal. To do this, you optimize and expand data pipelines and data structures on our core database (MongoDB) and support the implementation of the calculation logic on the GCP.
• Maintainable Data Pipelines & Infrastructure as Code: You develop and manage robust batch and streaming pipelines. You rely consistently on Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Dataform) and establish automated CI/CD processes to ensure easy maintenance, transparency, and minimal technical debt of the platform.
• Data Observability, Testing & Automated QA: You write clean, test-driven Python code and build comprehensive automated test suites for data streams and ML models. In addition, you establish monitoring and alerting infrastructures for proactive error detection and performance measurement in operation.
• Development of Modern AI Systems: You support the team in the development of the backend logic for AI agent systems. In doing so, you provide high-performance, secure API interfaces and are responsible for the ongoing technical operational management and optimization of these services.

What you bring with you

• Sound technical education & professional experience: You have a completed degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, or a comparable quantitative discipline and have at least 3 years of practical professional experience in data engineering.
• Will to shape & innovative power: You have a strong desire to shape things and proactively drive the further development of our technical infrastructure, making it future-proof through innovative solutions.
• Python & Advanced SQL: You master Python in depth and possess advanced SQL know-how (performance tuning, schema management). You optimize queries for relational and analytical databases reliably and independently - especially on Google Cloud Platform.
• CI/CD, Containerization & Infrastructure as Code:

You have practical experience in building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines, master containerization, and rely consistently on Infrastructure as Code.

• Testing, Monitoring & Observability: You have practical experience with testing frameworks for the automated securing of data pipelines and ML systems as well as in the setup of proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Strong hands-on mentality: You are not only conceptually strong, but you also roll up your sleeves. You dive deeper into data structures to independently analyze, evaluate, and validate technical problems or business questions end-to-end from a data perspective.
