• You ensure the reliable operation of AIX, Linux, WebSphere, and IBM-POWER environments and support our customers in 1st, 2nd, and partly 3rd-level support.
• You analyze and resolve technical disruptions and develop sustainable solutions for complex system environments.
• You support the operation and further development of Linux-on-POWER, Linux, AIX, and WebSphere infrastructures.
• You independently plan and realize engineering tasks and IT projects - from analysis and conception to implementation and handover.
• With appropriate experience, you also take on project management and coordinate technical implementations.
• You install, configure, optimize, and maintain IBM-POWER environments in customer infrastructures and accompany their acceptance.
• You continuously further develop existing environments and identify potentials for automation, standardization, and efficiency increases.
• You work closely with our customers and support them competently on-site, by telephone, and remotely.
• You advise customers on technical questions and contribute your know-how in consulting & engineering.
• You support our sales colleagues with the technical elaboration of offers and solutions.
• You contribute your ideas to our standardization and innovation process and help shape the development of new IT solutions based on POWER and Linux technologies.
• You support the team management in deployment and resource planning as well as in the coordination of operations, tasks, and projects.
• You ensure professional and timely reporting of your services.
• As part of the operational support, you also take on on-call duties.

What you bring with you ##

• Completed technical training, higher vocational training, or a degree in the field of computer science, systems engineering, or a comparable specialty.
• Several years of professional experience as a System Engineer, Linux Engineer, AIX Engineer, or in a comparable position.
• Sound experience in the operation and engineering of Linux and/or AIX systems.
• Good knowledge in the environment of IBM POWER and ideally Linux on POWER.
• Knowledge of WebSphere is an advantage.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions as well as in systems management.
• Knowledge in the areas of data encryption, certificate management, and security are an advantage.
• Experience with automation and scripting is a plus.
• Enjoyment of technical challenges as well as a solution-oriented and independent way of working.
• Strong customer orientation and enjoyment of collaborating with different contact persons.
• Willingness to take on responsibility and to continuously develop professionally.
• Certifications in the area of Linux, IBM POWER, AIX, or comparable technologies are an advantage.
