In the interest of companies and the population, we identify economic needs for action and make effective contributions to sustainably develop the economic location of Zürich. Our core services aim to create optimal economic framework conditions while implementing applicable law in the sense of the legislator.

The Location Promotion area strengthens the economic, research, and innovation location of Zürich. We network actors from business, science, and politics, accompany company settlements, and set important impulses for sustainable location development.

For a prosperous economic and innovation location of Zürich, good relationships with foreign countries are central. Attractive and future-oriented framework conditions can be sustainably shaped in times of increasing complexity, dynamics, and economic policy uncertainty, particularly through the cooperation and exchange of comparable innovation ecosystems and their actors. In this context, Location Promotion pursues the goal of building stable international relationships with selected locations, ecosystems, institutions, or companies.

For this versatile task, we are looking for a personality experienced in international and intercultural competencies with foresight, coordination skills, and a strong orientation toward implementation, starting in early April 2027.

Your main tasks: ###

• Ensuring the implementation of the government decision on the maintenance of the economic relations of the Canton Zürich (RRB 1116-2021)
• Further development and stabilization of the Innovation Leaders Network with comparable innovation locations
• Conception, organization, and execution of foreign trips, including in cooperation with strategic partners
• Care for foreign (high-ranking) delegations and elaboration of visit programs
• Conception and organization of the main event "Tag des Standorts" as well as support for further events of Location Promotion
• Elaboration and participation in position papers and political matters and support of Location Promotion in its core tasks

Your profile: ###

• Master's degree or equivalent training, preferably in political science, international relations, economics, or a comparable field of study
• Several years of professional experience, ideally in an international and intercultural context with reference to the focus countries
• Sound project management and organizational competence with the ability to lead complex projects from conception to successful completion
• Accustomed to dealing with politically influenced situations, confident appearance, and level-appropriate communication
• Very good oral and written expression skills in German and English. Further advanced language skills are an advantage
• Temporal flexibility and willingness to travel abroad
