Our Data & Storage Platforms department with over 25 employees is responsible, in close cooperation with our stakeholders, for the further development and operation of the business-critical data and storage infrastructure. In doing so, we rely on state-of-the-art technologies such as Oracle Exadata, PostgreSQL and MS SQL to ensure a reliable, innovative and scalable data and storage landscape.

In your role as a database engineer with a focus on Oracle, you will contribute to the further development of our entire database landscape and ensure its resilience and performance, thus actively shaping the future of our data and storage platforms.

Your tasks

• Responsibility for the engineering, operation and further development of our Oracle Exadata platform
• Responsibility for the design and engineering of the central Oracle landscape
• Ensuring the performance, stability and availability of the Oracle databases including backup and recovery concepts
• Further development of the database landscape and planning as well as implementing technical lifecycle projects in terms of quality, time and budget
• Advising and supporting internal stakeholders on architecture, security, performance and operation regarding database services
• Regularly performing maintenance work outside of office hours and providing on-call service

Your profile

• Completed studies (Uni/FH/HF) in computer science or an equivalent education with corresponding practical experience
• Several years of experience in the engineering and operation of Oracle databases in mission-critical environments
• Sound knowledge of Oracle Exadata, including conception, operation and performance optimization
• Very good know-how in the areas of Dataguard, backup and recovery as well as database and SQL performance tuning
• High affinity for data and platform technologies as well as a good understanding of the requirements of internal stakeholders such as application development or Data & Analytics
• Very good German and good English skills (at least level B2)
