Project Manager Structural Engineering - Client Representation (100 %)

As the largest municipality in the Canton of Solothurn, the city of Olten faces versatile urban developments. Due to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for a qualified personality for the Structural Engineering department as of 1 April 2027 to take over the client-side project management of new buildings, extensions, as well as demanding renovation and refurbishment projects.

Your area of responsibility

In this function, you will accompany the municipal structural engineering projects from project initiation and needs assessment, through planning and realization, to handover and project completion. You coordinate the requirements of the owner, users, and operations, lead the project organization on the client side, and manage the cooperation with external planners as well as other project participants. In addition, you accompany competitions, planner procurements, and award procedures according to public procurement law. You monitor compliance with quality, costs, and deadlines and develop project budgets, decision-making bases, reports, and motions for the political bodies. Participation in investment planning and the further development of sustainable standards and processes rounds off your area of responsibility.

Your profile

For this responsible task, you have a degree at tertiary level (FH, ETH, HF or equivalent) in architecture, civil engineering, building services engineering, or a related construction engineering discipline. You bring sound experience in the management of construction and planning projects and are very familiar with the SIA project phases as well as the planning and construction processes. You are characterized by an independent, structured way of working and communicate clearly and in a manner appropriate to the addressee. Knowledge of contract law and public procurement law ideally rounds off your profile or is regarded as an advantage.
