Engineer - Geo Platform

You work in the geo environment with maps, geodata and location-related information and integrate new sources into our cloud architecture. As a link between specialist departments and data providers, you develop and maintain robust data products as well as geo-services for analyses and applications. You automate data processing and migrations with Python and ensure reliable, scalable provision. Together we operate the Swisscom Geo Platform with monitoring, security and deployments across multiple environments.

• Operation and further development of the Swisscom Geo Platform
• Development and operation of geo-data pipelines for integration and transformation
• Automation of data processes and migrations with Python
• Provision of map and geodata services for various user groups
• Monitoring, error analysis and continuous improvement in cooperation with stakeholders
• You implement improvements and automations with AI

Your skills

• Degree (ETH/Uni/FH) in computer science, geomatics or business informatics or comparable experience
• Several years of experience in data engineering with a focus on data pipelines and relational data models
• Experience with ArcGIS and FME in the implementation and operation of geo-workflows
• Confident development with Python as well as experience in automation and scripting
• Structured, independent and reliable, you document solutions and are responsible for your topics
• Communicative, you explain technology understandably and maintain exchange with users and stakeholders
• Team-oriented, curious and willing to learn, you actively seek feedback and drive common goals forward
• Very good German or very good English, other national languages an advantage
