Project information ###

• No sub-contracting possible, exclusively personnel leasing via Hays (Schweiz)

Tasks ###

• Ensuring the stable operation as well as the continuous further development of the on-premise cloud platform based on compute, SAN, storage and VMware technologies (vSphere 8 / ESXi, VCF)
• Operation, administration and optimization of the virtualized datacenter infrastructure including regular on-call duty
• Responsibility for the complete lifecycle management of the physical server infrastructure, from procurement and inventory to decommissioning
• Execution and coordination of hardware replacement, repairs and maintenance work in cooperation with manufacturers and service partners
• Support of internal customers with cloud and migration projects, especially in the environment of EVS and AWS
• Consulting and technical support of internal customers during cloud transformation
• Identification and implementation of measures to optimize and automate operating processes and workflows
• Use and further development of VMware Aria Automation for the automation of infrastructure and operating tasks
• Use of scripting, REST APIs and automation technologies to increase efficiency
• Active participation in the agile team as well as ensuring the stability, availability and further development of the platform

Profile ###

• Completed training or further education in the field of computer science or a comparable qualification
• Sound practical experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Good knowledge of VMware Aria Automation and the automation of infrastructure services
• Sound experience with datacenter infrastructures, especially compute, SAN and storage
• Experience in hardware lifecycle management, including procurement, inventory and cooperation with manufacturers and service partners
• Knowledge and practical experience in the field of cloud migration or cloud transformation, ideally with AWS
• Knowledge of PowerShell, JavaScript or comparable scripting/programming languages as well as REST APIs are an advantage
• Experience with agile working methods, processes and tools as well as an independent and solution-oriented way of working
• Current certifications in the field of VMware Data Center Virtualization (VCP / VCAP) are an advantage, but not a requirement
• Very good English skills in spoken and written; German skills are an advantage
