The contribution you can make

• Provide advice to the sectors and the management of the Office on general issues relating to data protection as well as on issues concerning data processing, information systems and IT and digital projects
• Accompany IT and digital projects and develop, together with the specialist and IT services involved, solutions for business systems and processes that comply with data protection regulations
• Perform analyses of legal bases, data protection impact assessments and risk assessments in the context of data processing, information systems as well as IT projects and initiatives
• Analyze issues regarding data protection in relation to law, data, information systems and business processes as well as prepare opinions, directives and memoranda
• Provide support to sectors in implementing data protection requirements within systems and processes and raise awareness of data protection regulations and the repercussions of such regulations on business processes

What distinguishes you

• University degree (master's) in law
• Good knowledge of data protection law; additional training in this field is a preferential qualification
• Strong affinity for data and information systems, as well as the ability and interest to deepen understanding of their functioning, the underlying business processes and the legal and organizational contexts; professional experience in the field of information systems, IT projects or digital business processes is a preferential qualification
• Solution orientation, analytical and digital approach as well as the ability to convey complex content in a comprehensible manner in oral and written form
• Good consulting skills, confident attitude and a structured and proactive way of working
• Excellent written and oral knowledge of two official languages and English, each at least at level B2

The Directorate Crime Prevention and Law brings together the competence centers for data compliance, law, crime prevention and money laundering reporting (MROS).

The Data Compliance division of fedpol ensures secure, responsible and lawful information management throughout the entire data lifecycle. It is responsible for the data compliance management system at the Office level and the related governance, verification and control structures.

The Data Protection sector provides advice within fedpol on issues concerning data protection and accompanies, in particular, projects and information systems in the policing context.
