For the leadership and further development of an experienced infrastructure team, we are looking for an entrepreneurially thinking personality as Team Leader Virtualization / System Engineering.
In this role, you combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility and actively shape both the daily cooperation and the strategic further development of the infrastructure.

Your Task ##

• Functional and personnel leadership of a team of system engineers and infrastructure specialists
• Conducting employee appraisals, target agreements, and development measures
• Responsibility for the stable and secure operation of the virtualization and server infrastructure
• Technical responsibility for VMware or comparable virtualization platforms
• Further development of the server, storage, backup, and datacenter environments
• Planning and implementation of infrastructure projects and technological migrations
• Optimization of monitoring, automation, availability, and performance
• Support with complex technical problems and escalations
• Development and implementation of the technical infrastructure strategy
• Planning of lifecycle, modernization, and migration projects
• Cooperation with the Cloud, Network, Security, Workplace, and Service Management areas
• Support in budget planning and investment decisions
• Presentation of technical concepts to management and customers

Your Profile ##

• Completed higher education in the field of informatics, system engineering, or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience as a system engineer with a focus on virtualization and IT infrastructure
• Profound knowledge in VMware vSphere and ideally other virtualization platforms
• Very good knowledge of Windows Server and good knowledge of the Linux environment
• Experience with storage, backup, monitoring, and datacenter infrastructures
• Good knowledge of modern cloud technologies, especially Microsoft Azure, is an advantage
• Experience with PowerShell, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code is an advantage
• Several years of experience in a functional or personnel leadership role
• Strong communication and social competence
• Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to connect technical topics with business requirements
• Decisive, structured, and solution-oriented personality
• Very good German skills and good English skills
