Your Team

You will become part of a dynamic team of eight Material & Process Engineers in Zürich. Together, we develop satellite structures and mechanisms that are manufactured directly on-site and delivered to our international customers.

In our multicultural environment, you will work with a wide range of materials, manufacturing technologies, and space systems. As a Senior Engineer, you will take on an important technical role and actively contribute your expertise to the further development of our products, processes, and technologies. Your Mission

• Responsibility for the selection, development, qualification, and optimization of materials and manufacturing processes for individual parts, components, and complete assemblies
• Definition, planning, coordination, evaluation, and documentation of development, characterization, verification, and qualification tests for materials and manufacturing processes
• Technical support for the engineering organization (Design, Analysis, Systems Engineering) in material and process selection during product development
• Support for Procurement, Production, and Quality during the introduction of new processes as well as in the processing of non-conformances
• Taking on technical responsibility for complex M&P topics and active accompaniment of development and industrialization projects
• Proactive and independent control of costs, deadlines, and technical risks of the responsible M&P activities
• Creation and further development of technical specifications, procurement requirements, manufacturing documentation, and technical guidelines in German and/or English
• Technical representation of M&P in customer and supplier meetings, reviews, negotiations, as well as in collaboration with subcontractors
• Active accompaniment and technical leadership of improvement initiatives to optimize quality, costs, deadlines, and manufacturing processes
• Contribution of your own expertise as well as coaching and support of less experienced colleagues within the M&P team

Your Profile

• Completed Master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical field
• At least 5-7 years of professional experience in a comparable material and process environment, ideally in space, aerospace, or another high-tech industry
• Fluent German skills (at least C1) are mandatory, especially for the creation and maintenance of production and manufacturing documentation, English (fluent) is a must.
• Sound and practice-oriented knowledge in:
• metallic materials

CFRP/composite materials and their manufacturing processes

surface treatments

adhesives and bonding processes

• Experience in the qualification and industrialization of materials and manufacturing processes
• Strong ability to take independent responsibility for technical topics while simultaneously actively managing interfaces and projects
• Experience in working with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• Ability to analyze technical issues in a structured manner, communicate them clearly, and drive decisions based on facts
• High sense of responsibility, initiative, as well as a systematic, careful, and independent way of working
• Enjoyment in taking on responsibility, driving improvements, and developing others through your own expertise
• Experience with ESA (European Space Agency)
