Ref 2586488 | Date: 21 Oct 2026 Federal administration Head of the Smart Farming and Digital Technologies research group Ettenhausen, Switzerland (and home office) | 100-100% | What you can contribute * Lead a multidisciplinary and motivated team and plan the research activities of the Digital Production group in accordance with the Agroscope strategy * Exploit the potential of digital technologies and develop value-added solutions for field work, stable work, and farm management * Carry out research projects in collaboration with partners from the scientific world, the agri-food sector, and the administration (notably in the Agroscope trial stations) * Maintain scientific partnerships at national and international levels and acquire projects * Continuously develop the research group's methodological skills in digitization (e.g., algorithms for Computer Vision, IoT, AI) * Guarantee research quality and publish results in a manner adapted to target audiences, whether scientific journals, technical fact sheets, or reports for practice and the administration What makes you unique * Completed doctoral thesis focusing on digitization and data science, preferably in the agri-food sector * Good to very good understanding of digitization in order to be able to evaluate technical approaches and design decision-making tools * Experience in the application of digital technologies, particularly in the fields of data-based modeling, Computer Vision, and IoT (Internet of Things) * Interest in developing research projects in collaboration with partners from the scientific world, the agri-food sector, and the administration * Experience in personnel management, high ability to solve problems, creativity, and excellent communication skills * Knowledge of two official languages and English In a few words This position combines scientific and methodological skills with the objective of putting digital technologies at the service of agricultural practice.
