Senior Cyber Security Engineer (a)

Are you familiar with security infrastructures? Then we should talk. Our ICT landscape is large, complex, and has grown over the years. It connects classic ICT with clinical systems, medical devices, and highly available services. Much of it works well, some things could be better. That is why I am looking for reinforcement for our Network and Connectivity team. Someone who understands their craft, enjoys working technically, and knows that a secure infrastructure must do one thing above all: function reliably.

What to expect

• Network Security: You operate and optimize our central firewall and proxy infrastructures with around 60 virtual firewall instances in our Data Centers. This includes secure network connections, rule sets, and network segmentation
• Security Operations: You analyze complex technical malfunctions and incidents, get to the bottom of problems, and ensure stable operation together with the team. Demanding changes and updates are also part of it
• Secure Connectivity: You take care of secure access and connections between people, systems, and locations. This also includes topics related to VPN, Web Application Firewall, and modern security services
• Further Development: You question existing solutions, contribute your experience to projects such as our zone concept, and help implement technical improvements in ongoing operations

What you bring with you

• You have several years of practical experience in the engineering and operation of complex network and security infrastructures, especially with firewall and proxy solutions
• You understand network architectures, routing, communication flows, and technical dependencies and can also analyze demanding malfunctions in a structured manner
• You have completed ICT training or a comparable qualification with corresponding professional experience. Higher technical education at HF or FH level is an advantage
• You are familiar with VPN technologies. Experience with Web Application Firewalls, cloud-related security services, or Zero-Trust concepts is welcome
• You communicate confidently in German and can also manage well with English-language technical documentation and specialists
• You work independently, reliably, and keep your promises
• You persist when a technical problem cannot be solved immediately and take responsibility for your work
• You contribute your opinion, listen to others, and share your knowledge with the team
• Amidst all the technology, you do not forget the people. If someone needs support, you look for a solution instead of just referring to responsibilities
